Island House in Sevenoaks
Island house is located on a river island in a Conservation Area and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The house was built in the 1960's and extended many times resulting in a warren of rooms and long corridors. The exterior was unloved and unfitting of the beautiful village surroundings. This head-to-toe refurbishment retains the original house whilst providing an entirely new home. The interior has been reconfigured by moving the stair and tailoring the interior layout to suit family life. First floor extensions provide more rooms without increasing the footprint. The exterior has been wrapped in new insulation and clad in traditionally detailed brick, clay tiles and render.
